Congratulations to our TAP 15u team for their 5-1 finish. They finished second in the ACPL Grand Prix - championship.
William G. Morgan invented volleyball in 1895. Morgan was the physical director at the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) in Holyoke, Massachusetts. Morgan originally called the game "Mintonette". However, the name was changed to "volleyball" in 1896 after someone noticed that the action of hitting the ball back and forth over the net resembled a "volley". The first YMCA national championships were held in Brooklyn, New York in 1922. In 1949, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) designated volleyball as a non-Olympic sport. In 1957, the IOC recognized volleyball as an Olympic sport. Beach volleyball was introduced as a demonstration event at the 1992 Summer Olympic Games and became an official Olympic sport in 1996.

This our first year as a new club celebrated together with the staff, athletes and families today as we look forward to a season of growth and development.
Our 13u and 15u athletes attended an exciting event as they watched the #1 team in the nation compete locally. What an amazing opportunity for our athletes to see the best of best competing at the next level.
Thank you to all those past, present, and furutre volleyball athletes who give it their all for the love of the game!
Our 16u athletes got to witness a great day of volleyball in Raleigh as they watched the #1 team in the nation. As these athletes consider their desire to continue post High School in the sport of volleyball it was a great opportunity to assess their goals and areas to focus for the future. What a fun day for the team!
So excited to see so many TAP athletes able to come out and watch several colleges compete in back to back competition. Girls got a chance to meet and chat it up!
